Why I Built DeepSearch
I built this app because I was tired of spending forever looking for a file.
In 2025 I was representing myself in a civil lawsuit. Every day I was creating Word documents, PDFs, scanned exhibits, evidence photos, letters, notes, and draft after draft. I tried to stay organized, but after a while my computer became a maze of folders and subfolders. I knew the document existed... I just couldn't remember what I named it or where I put it.
Then I realized something.
Even though I couldn’t remember the name or location, I did remember key words inside the document. The important stuff.
That simple realization became the power behind DeepSearch.
Instead of searching by file name, DeepSearch creates an index of the words inside your documents. Then, all you have to remember are a few unique words from that document.
You can search four simple ways: • One word • Word AND word • Word OR word • An exact phrase in quotes
Type your words, hit the search button, then boom... you immediately see every matching file.
Click one of the lines on the results screen, then a reading window appears for that file with your search words highlighted in yellow. If it's the file you want, you can immediately open the original document or the folder where it's stored with a single click.
Whether you have 500 documents or 50,000 in your index, DeepSearch will immediately find your files.
The first time you use DeepSearch, it builds a comprehensive index of your documents. Depending on how many files you have, this may take a while. After that, index updates are much faster and automatic, and searches are almost instant.
