1. About the Developer
Old School Utility Software was created by a retired CPA who spent decades auditing the books and records of companies across many industries. Having a thorough understanding of internal financial and physical controls, and computer system operations was paramount. For example, part of my practice was property tax consulting. I took raw data from several Texas central appraisal districts, loaded them into a database program on my computer that I built, and filtered the data to find prospects that needed my help. I also worked for years as a government compliance investigator in a war zone and as a Texas private investigator.
My apps were created using real world experiences with a simple goal in mind… make everyday computer tasks easier and keep your data secure.
2. Support after the sale
All apps were designed to be simple, clear, and user friendly. Except for the fun Calculator app, all apps explain what they do and how to use them. But, if you see a problem with an app’s performance, I very much want to know about it. The email address to report problems is support@oldschoolutilitysoftware.com. We will reply back to you within a few days.
3. System requirements
The apps were designed to run on both older and newer machines. Large screens or small laptop screens. A minimum of 4 GB of RAM is recommended on a 64-bit Windows machine. Your hard drive should have at least 5 GB of unused space. Actually, it’s always good to have at least 10% to 20% as available space on your hard drive, whether you use any of our apps or not. They will work on Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 systems.
4. Installation information
Upon purchasing an app, you will be sent a setup installer program to the folder where you receive your downloads. Click on it. A top level folder called ‘Old School’ will be created with a subfolder for your app. For example, if you purchase the Calculator app, the path will be C:\Old School\Calculator. (If C is your internal hard drive letter.) All the program files will reside here, instead of spread out like some other vendor programs are. This makes it easier to back up your stuff. The setup routine will also place the program icon on your desktop.
And, if you want to uninstall the program, you can go to Windows Control Panel… uninstall program. You’ll see a screen of all programs installed. You find yours and right click the line. ‘Uninstall’ will appear for you to click on. I made sure that all my apps don’t delete any of your data. It only deletes program files.
5. Updates
All purchases are one time buys. You receive a license to use the app after purchase. We may later make improvements to apps. If you like, we can send you the update information, plus inform you of any new apps we are releasing.
6. Privacy
Old School Utility Software applications will never use cloud storage or online accounts. They are designed to work exclusively on your computer. No outsider access to your personal documents.
7. Refund policy
Because software downloads cannot be physically returned, please review system requirements and product details before purchase. If you experience a technical problem, contact us and we will work with you.
